Ivan Lendl, Former Tennis Star, Wins First Professional Golf Tournament

SAN DIEGO, April 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Ivan Lendl, one of the top tennis players of all time, is conquering another sport with the help of Carbite Golf (CDNX: CAB). Lendl won the Childrens' Medical Center Celebrity Classic in Richmond, Virginia, on April 16th using his favorite Carbite "DC" Polar Balanced Putter.

Lendl was the only player to win at least one tournament title each year from 1980 to 1993, and was a top-ten finisher on the tennis tour for 13 straight years. Since his retirement in 1994, he has become an avid golfer and has won sponsor exemptions to play in Buy.Com Tour events. Lendl has said his goal is to earn a card allowing him to play on a professional tour. "What an accomplishment, from world class tennis star to winning his first professional golf tournament," said Paul Romano, Carbite Golf Tour Representative.
