How is 1stserve different

Very easy, it's about YOU!
You can even (and we recommend that you do) suggest new rules and changes that make your tennis playing more personal and enjoyable.  No red tape, no bureaucracy, no politics, no agendas, - you are the league, not a number! We make it fun, competitive, exciting, and you make it complete.
You make the league at competitive and social as you'd like.

You get the total tennis experience, from on court league play, online resources, to off-court fun within the realm of tennis. And by the way, every player, whether they are the best, avg. or needs work on their serves and backhands, will win something when they play.

To further highlight the differences, listed below are comparisons of various other tennis options available to you.

USTA

Team oriented, mainly doubles with you committing weekly set days and times to play. You have to tryout for a team, or find other players and create your own. One season.

1stserve: Individuals, no team, you set your own time according to your schedule, no tryouts, you have racquet you play, many seasons, year round. Traditional tennis rules, exp., best of 3 sets.

Country Club

Expensive to join and maintain your membership, May not be strategically located for you, the same players with a slow influx of new players.

1stserve: You don't have to belong to a club, new players are added every season, either rookies or veterans moving up or down in level. You play at the other guy's location half of the time

Public Park

You never know who will show up, if they will be in your level or if they'll want to play with you and you want to play with them

1stserve: your schedule is made and you are guaranteed at least 7 matches and up to11 if you make the playoffs in singles. You also know who's on the roster and control how many matches you play in doubles.

Other Leagues

There are other leagues similar to 1stserve, but they do not give you prizes at signup, even before you play and for your performance on the court win or lose.

1stserve: Flexible, convenient, open, democratic, non-intrusive, melting pot of people  with a myriad of unique options to choose from and enjoy

Match schedulers

Many services offer the opportunity to register your name to find tennis matches , but most of these companies are collecting your name to sell or market products directly to you or through a 3rd party. If you do register and decide to play, you don't know who you are calling and may never get to play.

1stserve - when players signup, they fill out their profile and even a bio with picture that you can search, they become part of the community, their character and behavior and history are passed along. If you are a good guy, everyone knows it, if you are the opposite, everyone knows it even more and we have rules addressing bad tennis ethics. Further more, our format is similar to the ATP, their points race, Davis Cup, & tournament tennis welded together. There's a start middle and end to your season along with tons of prizes.

Local Associations

Rules, rules and more rules, designed to make you play according to how they see fit, or for whatever the organization believes in. They use your participation to get recognition, grants and awards.

1stserve - No politics, no visible or hidden agendas, no fronts, we love tennis we make it possible for you to play without any restrictions and demands. It's simple, you have racquet, you play!

By yourself

You can find your own partners and play matches on your own, the drawbacks are:

1)Every match is a practice! There's very little pressure, the results do not count for anything.

2)Same faces! the players that you know are limited

3)Same games! the players that you play have the same style of play

4) No belonging! it's cool to play wearing your 1stserve shirt and know that you are part of group of other players giving the same effort and experiencing the same feelings that you are

5) No reward! unless you buy your own trophies, gift certificates, personalized shirts, discounts, prizes or pay yourself.

6) No recognition! in 1stserve, the world knows and can search and follow your results

7) No historical archiving! in 1stserve all matches played, all records are preserved and can be searched by you, other members.

8) Hard to Monitor your improvement! it's tough to know how well you are playing if you are competing against the same person every week

9) Hard to Set goals! unless you decide that beating Johnny Quest 15 times is a great feat.
